IP and technology lawyers

Permanent employee, Full-time · Helsinki

Our mission
We are now looking for lawyers to join our IP and technology team. We hope to meet both recent law graduates and more experienced lawyers with solid experience within this field of work.
Your profile
We advise clients on a broad range of intellectual property and technology matters, including the development, protection, licensing, acquisition, and assignment of intellectual property rights and technologies as well as related dispute resolution. As a member of Avance’s IP and technology team, you would work on both contentious and non-contentious IP law, IP and technology agreements, as well as broader IP and technology advisory work. We work closely with Avance’s M&A team, advising on IP-related questions, and represent our clients for instance in infringement, cancellation and UDRP proceedings and contractual disputes.

We also regularly advise on trade secret and data law, regulatory matters related to information and communications technology, data protection, e-commerce, and consumer and advertising law, as well as employment related intellectual property matters, including employee invention and trade secret disputes as well as questions concerning unfair competition.

You might be who we are looking for if:

You share our values of providing first-class service while having fun doing it. You understand the essence of teamwork and treat everyone with respect. You either have background in IP prosecution and enforcement, technology deals and transactions, or are interested in taking a deep dive into the world of trademarks, copyright, patents, technology, data, software, AI, open source, data protection, cybersecurity and IT.

Depending on your seniority, your role may involve participation in legal or administrative proceedings, IP due diligence and other transaction work, drafting and negotiating a broad range of legal documents, and working together with our clients. We will tailor your role and responsibilities based on your experience, and you may work e.g. with commercial IP work, IP transactions, proceedings before the Market Court, EUIPO or national IP offices. You will work in close collaboration with other members of our team and generally contribute to the development of our firm.

Our ideal candidate holds a Master’s degree in law, complemented by practical work experience from similar work in a law firm or an IP firm environment (such as traineeships or associate/senior associate position). Fluency in both Finnish and English is a prerequisite as our work has a strong international angle.

How to apply?

Please send your application, CV and relevant certificates (such as university degree and transcript of studies) through the Apply button (in English) by 18 December 2025. Depending on your seniority, you may also consider submitting your high school diploma and matriculation examination certificate.
